It’s that time of year again, people. This weekend is the Pop-Up Flea, and HODINKEE will be there for the fourth year in a row with our straps, watch rolls, pouches, ties and pocket squares, and of course a ton of awesome vintage watches. There will even be a few products exclusively available to those of you who stop by to say hello this weekend. Here we’ve got a preview of some of the coolest watches we’ll have on-hand as well as a never before seen HODINKEE watch roll.
Pop-Up Flea is one of the highlights of the HODINKEE calendar because it allows us to connect with our readers in person, no keyboards or laptop screens involved. We get to spend the whole weekend spreading the gospel of vintage watches and even connect some customers with cool watches at good prices. We have watches in a variety of price ranges, from under $1,000 to over $10,000. It’s always a blast and we really recommend you come out if you’re in New York this weekend. Even if it’s just to say hello.
The Pop-Up Flea is at 82 Mercer, between Spring and Broome, in Soho and hours are:
Friday, December 6: 3pm-8pm
Saturday, December 7: 11am-7pm
Sunday, December 8: 12pm-6pm
You can find all the details here.
Now for the fun part. Here is a look at some of the watches we’ll have with us this weekend:
Classic Rolex Sport Watches
Of course we have a selection of classic Rolex and Tudor sport watches, including Submariners from both brands and various styles of GMT Masters.
Rolex Dress Watches
There’s also the dressier side of Rolex, with DateJusts, basic Oyster Precisions, and even a killer white gold Day-Date with bark finishing and the day in German.
Tiffany&Co. Signed IWC & Rolex
Here are two watches, co-signed by Tiffany&Co, the first a gold time-only watch from IWC and the second a late 1980s Rolex DateJust.
Classic Heuer & Girard-Perregaux Chronographs
Funky, 1960s and 1970s Chronographs
As always, we have a ton of different chronographs, ranging from the more classic 1950s styles from Heuer and Girard-Perregaux to much funkier 1960s and 1970s examples like the Universal Geneve Aero-Compax and Breitling SuperOcean.
Time-Only Watches At Affordable Prices
We always have some more affordable time-only watches to make sure that even someone with a relatively limited budget can get into the vintage watch game. It’s all about spreading the love here and these Omegas and Movados are watches anybody can wear proudly.
Vintage Heuer Monaco With Box, Papers, and Bracelet
On the other end of the spectrum is this Heuer Monaco 1133G, which has box, papers, swingtag, bracelet, and strap. This is about as good as it gets for a Heuer lover, and is actually the very watch we used for this review.
Rolex Ladies Stella Dial DateJusts
And this year we decided to get something fun for ladies with these Stella dial Rolex DateJusts. They’re tiny, yellow gold, and some even have diamonds on the Stella dials. They’re fun and something a little different from HODINKEE.
HODINKEE Canvas Watch Roll
HODINKEE Canvas Watch Rolls In Three Colors
Finally, we’re unveiling a new watch roll this weekend: a canvas roll for 6 watches made right here in the USA. There is no better place to launch these than the Pop-Up Flea, and we will have three colors, green canvas, navy blue canvas, and waxed tan canvas, for sale, all at $110. These will not be hitting the HODINKEE Shop until next week and we think you’re all really going to like them.
Details can be found here.
